01

Neurological injury

After moderate to severe stroke, 40% of patients reached functional independence at 12 weeks after one IV dose, against 10% on placebo.

02

Functional improvement

After cervical spinal cord injury with complete motor paralysis, motor scores rose an average of 15.4 points over a year after one IV dose.

Orthopedics

In a preclinical knee-defect study, Dezawa MuseCells® were the only group to repair the defect significantly better than both control and the rest of the MSC population.

Routes of administration

GO WHERE IT HURTS.

01 — IV

Systemic infusion

IV administration has been studied in the published human trials. In preclinical studies, IV Dezawa MuseCells® were demonstrated to travel past the lungs to the site of injured tissue.

02 — Local

Injection

Local injection has long been used in the field and is now being studied with Dezawa MuseCells®. Patients treated with Dezawa MuseCells® can join the registry and add their outcomes to the research.

The mechanism

FIND.EAT.BECOME.REMAIN.REPAIR RUNS DEEP.FIND. EAT. BECOME. REMAIN.

Dezawa MuseCells® sense S1P, a distress signal released by damaged tissue, and home to the injury.

Yamada 2018 · Circ Res; Kuroda 2022 · Front Pharmacol

They engulf damaged cells and, within 24 to 36 hours, begin to express that cell's markers.

Wakao 2022 · Cell Mol Life Sci · lab

In preclinical studies they have taken on the markers of neurons, heart muscle, liver, kidney, lung, skin, blood-vessel and skeletal-muscle cells.

79 primary studies · see All the research

About 90% carry HLA-G, a tolerance molecule; in preclinical studies, donor cells survived for months without immunosuppressants.

Kuroda 2022 · Front Pharmacol; Minatoguchi 2024

Ordinary MSCs were renamed medicinal signaling cells because they mostly send repair signals. Dezawa MuseCells® take on the markers of the cells they engulf.

THE FIELD

MUSE CELLS

“Muse cells” — generic — is the scientific field: the cell type described in the published research, studied by research groups worldwide.

THE PRODUCT

DEZAWA MUSECELLS®

Dezawa MuseCells® is the authentic clinical product: Muse cells prepared under license from MuseCell Innovations®, the global IP owner for the technology.

The science travels with the authentic cell. So does the safety.

Every authentic preparation is verified for SSEA-3 identity and ships with a lot-specific Certificate of Analysis. Authentic Dezawa MuseCells® are distributed only through MuseCell Innovations, the global IP owner, and its authorized healthcare centers.

If you administer cell therapy, your patients associate the outcome with your practice — not with your supplier. The reputation in the room is yours; so are the professional obligations.

Questions

MUSE CELLS, ANSWERED.

What are Muse cells?

Muse cells are stem cells that occur naturally in the body, in bone marrow and connective tissue. They were discovered by Professor Mari Dezawa at Tohoku University in 2010. Dezawa MuseCells® are the authentic Muse cells, licensed by the global IP owner.

What are Muse stem cells?

‘Muse’ stands for multilineage-differentiating stress-enduring: the 2010 discovery paper reported cells that can give rise to all three germ layers and survive cellular stress.

How are Muse cells different from other stem cells?

Ordinary MSCs mostly send repair signals. In preclinical studies, Dezawa MuseCells® home to injured tissue, engulf damaged cells and take on their markers, and carry HLA-G, a tolerance molecule.

Have Muse cells been studied in humans?

Yes, Dezawa MuseCells® have been studied in six published human trials: stroke, spinal cord injury, heart attack, ALS, newborn brain injury and a rare skin disease.

How can patients take part in ongoing research on Muse cells?

The Registry of Outcomes of Dezawa MuseCells® follows patients after treatment. Only patients treated with authentic Dezawa MuseCells® can take part.
